As the founder of the CORE Mentorship program, Shaz Butte recognized the need for a cohesive platform where the fields of construction, real estate, architecture, and engineering could converge to mentor and guide college students. Beyond his role in education and mentorship, Shaz is also the co-founder of Highlands Construction and Highlands Development. These enterprises emphasize innovation and quality in commercial construction and development, reinforcing Shaz's commitment to excellence in the construction and real estate sectors.

In 2023, he and his wife co-chaired the Center's annual luncheon, which was a resounding success, raising nearly $500,000 to support the organization's vital services for women and families in crisis.
